Dutch Lions FC NPSL relocates team to Miami area

Miami, November 19, 2019

The Dutch Lions FC NPSL team announced today that they are relocating their team to Miami. After playing three years in The Woodlands, winning one Conference Championship, the Men's team will continue to play in Olympia Heights in Tropical Park Stadium.

CEO Robbert Kroeze on the relocation: "The club wants to focus 100% on the youth academy. But as an organization we want to keep the license in and continue in a different region. With the announcement of Inter Miami with David Beckham we believe the soccer market in the Miami region will only increase the coming years. Besides that, there is a large Dutch (business) community in the Miami region that is interested in supporting a Dutch styled soccer team that consists of several players and coaches from the Netherlands. We want to continue providing an exciting game of soccer to the local soccer community and hope to build a solid fanbase in the coming years combined with providing young talented players from the Miami region a chance to be scouted and become professional players in the US or Europe."

Try-out dates for the 2020 season, that starts in May 2020, will be announced the coming weeks.
